It’s that time of year where all the kids get into costume and head out into the neighborhoods with their eyes on the prize – a big bag full of candy. With that also comes the golden phrase of “trick-or-treat.” There are many stories as to where the phrase originated… it’s been seen in ancient Celtic festivals, early religious holidays, medieval practices and even through politics.
One thing that remains true though, it’s all about one thing. In the spirit of the season, we wanted to share our favorites tricks that bring great treats – for your vessel, of course!
Here’s a bit of Sea Tow hocus pocus!
Trick: Spray your boat down with environmentally friendly liquid dish soap when trailering.
Treat: Keep bugs off the hull of your boat during transport and help it slide more easily into the water at a shallow ramp, making unloading at the marina nice and easy!
Trick: Keep a wet towel underneath your cooler.
Treat: Enjoy a day of boating without your cooler slipping and sliding all over the deck. With a wet towel underneath, it will stay put all day long!
Trick: Wipe off your boat in the morning.
Treat: Morning dew is distilled water, which gives you an easy and natural way to keep your boat spot-free!
Trick: Keep a bottle of white vinegar handy.
Treat: Vinegar kills mold and is an eco-friendly alternative to bleach. By using vinegar, you’re treating both your boat and the environment!
Trick: Keep sun protection on hand.
Treat: By keeping sunscreen, hats and UV-protectant clothing on-board, you and your passengers can avoid the pain of sun burn and enjoy healthy skin for years to come.
